Graduation 2015 prize-giving: British Society for Soil Science Undergraduate Award

Damien Burnell, 26, from Cowbridge, South Glamorgan, won the British Society for Soil Science Undergraduate prize when he graduated from Harper Adams University at the end of September. Damien, who completed the and honours degree in Agriculture with Crop Management was deemed to have produced the best undergraduate final year dissertation on a soils-related topic.
Lecturer Dr William Hartley said: “Damien Burnell is a very worthy winner of this award due to his academic excellence and contribution to soil science following his outstanding honours project focusing on aggregate stability in compost-amended soils. His attention to detail and enthusiasm for the subject area has made him a worthy recipient of this award.”
